A Taste of Asheville with Big Plans for Hendersonville

A few weeks ago, the Hendo.Today team took a flavorful field trip just up the road to spend a day with the legendary Asheville Food Tours, and let us tell you… it was delicious, inspiring, and exactly the kind of experience that reminds us why food brings people together.

We joined longtime guides Stu, Paddy, and Sarah, who have been leading folks through Asheville’s vibrant culinary scene for years. Yes, the hurricane paused things for a bit — but just like the rest of WNC, they’re back in full swing, showing off Asheville’s incredible resilience through food, flavor, and hospitality.

Here are just a few highlights from our tour:

  • 🍸 Rooftop views & cocktails at Wildwood Still and the Moxy Hotel
  • 🌮 Flavor-packed tacos at White Duck Taco
  • 🍪 Giant sweets from Mary’s Mountain Cookies
  • 🍷 Small-batch wine tasting at Botanist & Barrel
  • 🍯 Local honey samplings at Asheville Bee Charmer
  • 🍣 Fresh sushi from Miyako House
  • 🍹 Craft cocktails & hearty bites at Twisted Laurel
  • 💫 And a bonus stop by the iconic Curate

Each stop offered more than just good food — it was a bite-sized story of Asheville’s comeback and creativity. Locals love it, visitors rave about it, and yes, some folks go on the tour more than once just for the fun of it.

And now… we’re bringing that same energy to Hendersonville!

Stay tuned as we kick off our very own Hendersonville Food Tour series — and we want YOUR input!
