From Hendersonville With Hope: Asheville’s Grand Bohemian Lodge Reopens After the Storm
Just 25 miles up the road from Hendersonville, a powerful moment of revival took place today in Asheville’s historic Biltmore Village — and we were there to witness it.
After more than seven months of closure and heartbreak following Hurricane Helene, the legendary Grand Bohemian Hotel has reopened its doors — now reborn as the Grand Bohemian Lodge. The floodwaters that ravaged Biltmore Village last fall left deep scars, taking out homes, businesses, and some of the most iconic landmarks in Western North Carolina. But today, one of those landmarks came back to life — and it came back strong.
A Beacon in Biltmore
The Grand Bohemian has always been more than a hotel. It’s been a cultural anchor in Asheville — a place where art, food, and hospitality meet under one historic roof. So when Helene struck and the floodwaters rushed through its lobby, it felt like a piece of the region’s heart had been torn away.
But thanks to the tireless efforts of Kessler Hospitality, the vision behind the original Grand Bohemian, the lodge has been fully restored — art re-hung, interiors reimagined, and spirit fully intact. The beloved Red Stag Grill is back. The fireplaces glow again. And this morning, with deep gratitude and a few emotional tears, the first guest since the storm checked in.
It was more than symbolic — it was sacred.
A Win for WNC
Here in Hendersonville, we know what it means to weather a storm. Helene didn’t just hit Asheville — it tested all of Western North Carolina. That’s why seeing Asheville shine again matters to us all. Our communities are interconnected, and every win for our neighbors uplifts us, too.
The reopening of the Grand Bohemian Lodge is a reminder that WNC is rebuilding — together. From the River Arts District to Biltmore Village, and from downtown Hendersonville to the edges of Chimney Rock, we are rising.
Plan Your Visit
If you’re headed to Asheville soon, we invite you to stay where the light is shining again. Whether it’s for a weekend getaway or a night of dining at the Red Stag, make the Grand Bohemian Lodge part of your journey.
And remember: every visit, every reservation, every shared story contributes to the revival of our beautiful mountain home.
From all of us at Hendo.Today — here’s to rebuilding, reconnecting, and moving forward. Together.
